Squirrel ! - SOUS DT Reveal

My goodness...

Is it really two weeks since I posted?

Must get my act together...

Today is reveal day over at
and the latest addition to my
London album....

The great sketch by our Leah

Yep, you guessed, the papers are
 "Portobello Road" from Papermania

The total highlight of Daughter's trip
Feeding a squirrel in St. James's Park

Just moments before the squirrel
came along, a Blue Tit landed
on her hand, stole a nut and
was gone so quick that my
camera hand just wasn't fast enough, pity.....

But aren't these photos just gorgeous,
 Deborah was so thrilled

The wee Prima resin squirrel
is just perfect for this page,
knew I was saving him for something... LOL

The beautiful pearl flourish
 is from Zva Creative
The flowers are handmade from the
EK Success Retro Flower punch (again!)
The leaves are a Heartfelt Creations stamp

The frame around the squirrel
 is a Kaiser stamp, using
Distress Ink "Barn Door"
and the clock behind the wee frame
 is a Heidi Swapp stamp

The lampost and frame chippie
are from my stash, inked black
 and lightly touched with
 Rub N Buff "Patina"

The corrugated cardboard
is from one of the pizza delivery boxes,
inked with Distress Inks
"Forest Moss" and "Brushed Corduroy"

Nestabilities "Labels Fifteen"
 matting the two smaller photos

A really treasured memory from our trip

Now it's your turn to use the sketch

Head over to the

my fellow DT girls and

SOUS DT Reveal - The Queen!

Reveal day again at
with one of my favourite photo's from my
 London trip with Daughter

The sketch from Our Leah

And, yes, we did see the Queen!
We had no idea when we went to London
 that it would be the
 State Opening of Parliament
 while we were there.
The Queen always opens the new
 session of Parliament,
a centuries old tradition,
and of course, they have the
 usual journey from
 Buckingham Palace to
 the Houses of Parliament

Papers are still
 Papermania "Portobello Road"
The crown is a Teresa Collins
 stamp from"Chic Bébé Boy" Collection
with Kaiser rhinestones to embellish it

This was the best photo I got
 of the Queen's coach,
sadly she was facing the other way.
 We were standing in Whitehall,
 just along from the Cenotaph.
Having been to London many, many times,
I have never been there when
there was any of the
pageantry stuff happening - so this was
an unexpected treat and bonus to our trip

The Queen's Coach photo is mounted on a
 Nestabilities "Floral Ovals"
I have chopped up a huge bloom
to use as decoration under the photo's
 and used
Prima "Monarch Diamond"
flower centres
The rhinestone butterfly
was part of a Zva Creative flourish

The great photo of daughter and I was taken
by one of our friendly London Policemen....
The Queen's parade passed on its way
to Parliament at about 11 o'clock,
and then we had about a 45 minute
wait for her return journey, after her speech.
Lining the route, of course,
 are armed guardsmen and policemen.
Being the friendly Scottish girls
we are, we soon got chatting
with the young constable
standing in front of us.
It fair passed the waiting time for us,
and him, and he was happy to oblige
when we asked him to take our photo
(the only photo of the two of us
together on the whole trip)

So, another great memory,
printed, scrapped and stored for posterity....

That's my interpretation of the sketch,
what would you do with it?
Head over to
 see the wonderful work from
the rest of the DT and enter
your interpretation for a chance at

See you soon

SOUS DT Card Sketch Reveal

Hello from Scotland!!
Yes, I'm home safe and sound from
 Australia, after an arduous journey
of 30 hours.
Why does it have to be so far away?

Anyway....
It's Wednesday, it's reveal day at
it's card sketch number 3.
Loving playing with these little
layouts minus photo's....

The great card sketch from our own Leah

Papers I have used are from
 Kaiser "Peek-A-Boo"
a really old collection,
but I love the neutral baby colours

The rub-on sentiment is from
Paper Inklings

Ribbon and buttons from stash

I have used Nestabilities
 Classic Scalloped Circles
and Standard Circles for the layers,
and the wee bears are
cut from the paper,
all inked and layered together

Another fun card to make.
I hope you get a chance to join
in our sketch challenge this time around
 Head over to the
see what the other girls have made,
totally amazing cards, and then join in

See you on Friday for the
sketch reveal, busy, busy, busy...

Brissie Update

G'day from Brisbane, Australia.....

Thought I would post these first
two photo's of DGDs as a reminder of the
 SUMMER
weather in Scotland when I left....

And the
WINTER
 weather in Australia below....

DH and I went to Cairns when
 I returned from Perth, and
 we had such an adventure.

This is on board the Reef Encounter
on our way to explore the
 Great Barrier Reef

And, what did we do there?

Well, I snorkeled.
What an experience, the reef is amazing,
so colourful and teeming with life

I do have underwater photo's
 of my snorkeling adventure,
but they haven't been developed yet!!

DH went one better,
he went scuba diving at the Reef...

The next day we did this....

Scooters!!!!!

This photo is half way up a mountain,
with stunning views of Cairns below.

I have never been on a scooter before
- great fun

We saw people who had hired cycles
- I would never have gotten up that mountain

We had a ball.....

Lunch at a great wee pub
- with view of the mountain behind....

Breather break at a swimming hole,
no we didn't go in...

Always wanted to be a Bikie Chick
- does a scooter count?

When we got back to Brisbane,
I had a wonderful day out with two
gorgeous ladies who live in Brisbane
- Tracey and Annette

Tracey, Annette and I are on the
 Stuck On U Sketches
Design Team

Tracey and I have known each other
for a long time, but it was the
first time we had met Annette,
and what a lovely lady she is.

We had coffee and then Annette
took us to a great Scrapbooking Store
in her part of town. It was lovely
spending time together, and when
 I come back to Brissie
(I leave for Scotland tomorrow)
we are going to get together
for some scrappy time - can't wait...

I have managed to do some
scrapping while I have been here,

I bought a couple opf kits
when I was over in Perth,
and have spent some time
putting them together.

The first two kits were bought from
 "Tomorrow's Memories"
 in Bassendean, Perth

The next kit from "Made With Memories"
 in Rockingham, Perth

This last layout I made from
some cheapy stuff I managed
to get in Big W here in Brisbane,
not what I would usually buy,
but not a lot of choice...

Loving these little playing cards from Kaiser....

I caught up with Mandy from
 Scrappy Go Lucky
while I was in Perth,
and we had a great scrappy
session together. I was able
to play with some Pion papers
(have admired them for a long time,
and was able to buy the collection from Mandy)

I designed a Christmas layout
for her with the Pion papers
 and Cricut while there,
and never thought to take a photo of it.
Hopefully she will post it on
 the Scrappy Go Lucky Blog
at some point nearer to Christmas,
so I can see it again....

So, that's me for now.
I leave Brissie at 2.30 on Monday morning,
and I'm hoping to take some
of the beautiful Australian sunshine
home with me.

Talk again once I'm back in Scotland

Hugs for now
