Welcome to my blog today.
It is the first sketch reveal of 2013 from
and I have a really special page
to reveal today.
Tracey Kelly, Annette Gearside
and I.
Friends and fellow DT members of
Stuck On U Sketches.
Tracey and Annette both live in
Brisbane, Australia, and my husband
works in Brisbane Australia,
so I visit there from Scotland regularly
(next trip is in February!).
This photo was taken on
my first trip to Brissie
in August last year (last year!!).
Tracey and I have known
each other for a long time,
but it was the first time we had
both met Annette,
and what a lovely lady she is!
When I gave them a copy
of the photograph each,
when I was over in November,
we came up with the idea that
we all use the same photo
for one of the sketches.
So, the same sketch,
the same photo,
three different layouts....
The Sketch, by Nanne
Papers used are
"Postcards from Paris" by Webster's Pages.
The gorgeous chippie lamp
is from Dusty Attic,
which I have inked with
"Lapislazuli" from VersaColor
and then lightly distressed
with dry paint in white.
I then wrapped some leafy trim
around it.
Inside the lamp I placed a wee bit
of the paper with the image of
the peacock and then drenched
it with Dimensional Magic
for the glazed effect.
Some fussy cutting to take the
flowers from the paper off the
edges and some wee roses
from my (huge) stash of flowers.
Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page
"Layered Arches"
Closer detail of the glaze on the lamp.
Some gorgeous Prima flowers
"Regia Smoke" and "Gillian White"
and Petaloo "Fabric Flowers"
and some white feathers tucked in behind.
Around the photo I have placed
some Sullivan's Regal Trim
and a Sizzix die for a few leaves
Some Kaiser bling "Split Pea"
adorning the flowers in the paper.
Totally happy with this layout.
So, now you need to head over to
and see what the other girls have
done with the sketch and see
what Tracey and Annette have
done with the same photograph as me
- too cute.
See you over there,
and hopefully you will have a chance
to join in the challenge
and we can come over to
your blog and leave some bloggy love.
Til then
Hugs
