Emma

Oh My Goodness, What a Day!!!!
My name in lights, at last, but for the wrong reason
- more at end of post.....

A gorgeous layout of DGD # 3, Emma,
who will be 1 tomorrow.....

I have used sketch # 105 over at Creative Scrappers....
I flipped the sketch 90degrees, first time I've done that
- getting adventurous, whoo hoo....

Still using my Lime Tart Kits - this one is the
September 09 Half Tart Kit.....

Papers are My Mind's Eye 'Pretty Please'
C/s is Bazzill Bling
Butterfly Rub on is Jenni Bowlin
Lace in the kit, as are all above ingredients.....

I have added
Prima flowers of course, Santa Rosa Tea Roses.....
Prima pearl flourishes.....
Little roses from my stash....
Felt flourish by Queen & Co....
Felt Frame and Glitter Butterfly by Jenni B....
VersaColor ink in Pink.....

This layout also qualifies for two other challenges....
The Challenge over at Flutterby Wednesday
- Anything Goes, but must include
butterfly, fairy or angel....

And the challenge at Practical Scrappers
- Felt, Fabric or Tulle.....
Hard to believe this little one will be a year old tomorrow,
my goodness, it feels like she was just born.....
Feeling my age, especially today.....

I have had an unexpected day off of work
- why, you ask????
The dreaded freeway smash......

After ten years of accident free
driving in Australia.....

Yep, driving into work this morning at 6.30,
pitch dark, pouring with rain, rush hour
freeway traffic - you get the picture......

Ute in front of me braked and stopped,
I braked and stopped,
car behind me, didn't stop
- CRUNCH.......CRUNCH.....

Got smashed from the back
and shunted into the ute in front of me
- what a mess, my poor wee car.....
Thankfully, nobody was hurt, and we
were eventually towed off of the freeway,
but my car is a wreck, especially the front
- the ute had a tow bar to die for,
it was a works vehicle, no messing with these guys....

Thus, the whole front of my car has
just disintegrated. However, the wonderful
blokes at the repair shop say it is perfectly
repairable, it's only a year old, poor thing.....
Luckily, the car who hit me, her insurance
company will foot the bill for me to have
a hire car, mine will be off the road
for about four weeks - waiting for parts.....

What, I hear you ask, has that to do with my
name in lights?????

Tow truck removed my car from the freeway,
and dropped me at a garage so that hubby could
come and pick me up - so he's driving
along the freeway to get me, and the big electronic
signs over the road (used for warnings, etc)
stated 'Accident on Mount Henry Bridge now cleared,
proceed with Caution' - that was ME.

OK, so MY name wasn't actually in lights,
but close as... Gotta look on the bright side
- as I said, a very nasty crash, but no injuries
- the ambulance did turn up, but we were all OK....

So, Dad and Son, if you are reading this in Scotland
- I'm fine, just a wee bit shaken,
and never got to work - spent the whole
day filling in police reports, insurance claim forms,
organizing hire car (collect tomorrow).....

Will go tomorrow and see my car and
get some photo's, imagine, a scrapbooker,
and I didn't have my camera with me!!!!

Hugs for now

Jane xx

Jane, oh my friend Jane, I am so glad you were not hurt. Your poor car.... and then there is the stressful accident itself. I chuckled at the admission of not having your camera there. What a scrapbook page that would have made. Now onto the scrapbook LO of that precious Emma....this LO is so dazling, girly-girly and beautiful, it leaves me gasping. Are you submitting this to a magazine for publication. You surely should...and many more of your scrapbook pages as well.
Much hugs.
Carole
