Cricut Workshop Layouts

Here are the seven layouts the girls made at the
recent Cricut Workshop held by

One of the girls actually managed to get all
seven layouts finished on the day.....

I have used the DCWV Garden Party stack.....

Double Mates cardstock for all the Cricut cuts,
except the paper ones of course.....

I cut the pony tail off of the wee girl in the above layout
to make this a boy layout.....

Very few extra embellishments added, one piece of ribbon,
a few little flowers, some Kindyglitz
and some 3D Kindyglitz.....

We had a great day, looking forward to the next one.....

That's all for now.....

Still using my kits from Lime Tart,
this is part of the September 09
(yes, September!!!) A La Tarte kit......

Papers are Rouge de Garance 'Adele' collection.....

With flowers by Prima, bling from Kaiser

BLOG HOP - Day 7

Welcome to the Final Day of the Scrappy Go Lucky

Round the World with CRI-Kits Blog Hop....

Have you been gathering together the

clues form the DT blogs?.....

Does it make any sense yet?....

This final day is the turn of Mandy to post.....

When you have solved the anagram,

be sure to e-mail Mandy at

To be in with the chance to win the

four Cricut cartridges....

Full details at Scrappy Go Lucky.....

My final project for this week is using

the corner flourish I drew yesterday.....

However, playing around with the brown c/s

was proving too much of a challenge inbetween shifts.....

So, I drew the design again,

onto black c/s and used this beautiful photo of

my Dad and I arriving at my wedding back in 2007

- I love this photo of us.....

A couple of pieces of paper by Making Memories

and some Kaiser bling.....

Small flowers by Prima and the large

glittery one by Líl Davis Designs (has been in my

stash for quite some time!!).....

The pen work flourish is just the finishing

touch to this simple design - I like it.....

So, there we have it.....

Remember to comment at this post to have your

name in the draw to win a set of the

CRI-Kits pens and holder, if needed.....

The draw will be 18th June.....

Don't forget to come back and check if

you're the winner, and to see

what else I have been up to.....

In the meantime, thank you for following

us along this fascinating journey

Round the World with CRI-Kits....

Hugs

BLOG HOP - Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of the Round the World

with CRI-Kits Blog Hop.....

We're nearly at the end of a great week.....

What a journey......

Have you managed to keep up with us all?......

Tereesa's Fish Bowl yesterday was totally amazing.....

Today is the turn of Enfys to post her project....

So, hop on over there to collect her clue,

and leave a comment.....

*****

Today I'm posting sneak peeks of the

Cricut Workshop

being held here in Perth,

Western Australia tomorrow (Sunday).....

So, if you just happen to be having a weekend

break in Perth (haha) or you actually live here,

contact Mandy and book your spot

- there are a couple of spaces left.....

I've created 7 layouts for the workshop,

all using Cricut, no Gypsy or Design Studio.....

Now, that was a challenge.....LOL.....

Here are some sneaks.....

Should be a fun day, with Cricut as the star....

The layouts will be posted at Scrappy Go Lucky

after the workshop if you can't make it on the day.....

And on this blog too.....

*****

Now, to today's project with the CRI-Kits gel pens.....

How's this for a corner embellishment.....

I have drawn the design straight onto a 12 x 12

sheet of cardstock....

Using the silver pen from the Metallics collection.....

On the reverse side of Double Mates Cardstock

Coffee Brown.....

The three flourishes are from the Serenade cartridge

and I have welded and flipped and turned

them on Gypsy,

to get them to where I want them to be.....

And, did you notice, no staccato effect

- see this post with reference to the staccato effect....

I may, or may not have the time to turn

this into a layout before tomorrow,

have to go to work!!!!......

Work makes no allowance for Blog Hop's

- shame really, I don't qualify for maternity leave

anymore, should introduce Blog leave,

my body is starting to flag under

all this blogging.....

I'll see what I can do.....

Remember to leave a comment at this post

to be in the running to win a set of the

CRI-Kits gel pens

- and to collect my clue for the Grand Prize

of FOUR Cricut cartridges

- Wall Decor & More, Cindy Lou,

Freshly Picked and Mini Monsters.....

See you tomorrow.....

Remember, it's Mandy's post

for the final day of the Blog Hop tomorrow.....

Hugs

Jane

While I'm here can I just shout out HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Dad in Scotland - Love you Dad, miss you - See you in October - can't wait.....

BLOG HOP - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of our

Round The World with CRI-Kits Blog Hop

*****

Today brings the turn of Tereesa

to post her clue for the grand prize

and show us her project

Yesterdays layouts and card by Tracey were amazing

*****

My project with the CRI-Kits gel pens today is Disney.....

The pens are great for the facial features

of the characters, which, as you know,

can be a nightmare to cut, and to piece together.....

I have gone with Cinderella from the

Happily Ever After cartridge....

Here is the Cricut in action, again.....

I love the detail captured by the pens

- this time the Black pen from the Metallic collection.....

I thought I would use the image for a

four year olds birthday card, however,

I think the background paper I went with is a

bit too old for a kiddie - too late.....

You can see from the Cricut photo,

I drew the whole character on the flesh coloured card,

however, when I layered the coloured pieces

onto the flesh card, it looked extremely odd....

These characters really need to be against

a black bacground....

So, I cut out the face and pieced it along with the rest.....

Needs a bit of fine tuning me thinks,

and her hands and fingers don't look right either.....

I will have to try this technique again,

however, you get the idea,

and her face does look stunning.....

I'm still wondering whether I should colour

her eyes and lips, like you would if she were stamped

- what do you think?

The number 4 is cut from the

Tie The Knot cartridge and layered with foam....

A wee bit of ribbon and a few pearls.....

*****

Remember to leave a comment at this post

to be in with a chance to win a set of

CRI-Kits gel pens (your choice which set)

and to collect my clue for the grand prize,

four cartridges from Cricut:-

Wall Decor & More

Cindy Lou

Freshly Picked

Mini Monsters

Remember also that each member of the DT

is giving away a set of CRI-Kits gel pens on her blog

- so quite a few chances to win....

Here's a list of the DT members,

don't want you to miss any of the clues -

Be careful, she may have more than one clue!!!

2 Me,

but you're already here LOL

3 Diane

4 Tracey

6 Enfys

Enfys will post tomorrow....

And, I will see you tomorrow....

BLOG HOP - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of our

Round the World with CRI-Kits

Scrappy Go Lucky Blog Hop....

Are you managing to keep up with everybody.....

Diane's Boston Tea Party yesterday was fabulous....

And collecting all the clues....

Todays it's the turn of Tracey....

Hop on over to Tracey's, collect the next clue,

leave a comment,

and marvel at her gorgeous projects....

*****

My project today is another design from

the Summer In Paris cartridge, I love this cart,

should have been a full cartridge,

imagine the possibilities.....

Anyway....

Here's the Cricut in action again

- it's fascinating watching it draw these intricate designs -

using the white pen from the

Pastels CRI-Kits Gel Pens collection,

on Double Mates cardstock....

Sadly, my photographs of the finished project

do not show the design so well.....

My photography skills leave a lot to be desired....

Should have moved the card closer to the window....

I think I will take these photo's again......

However, the shots taken during the drawing phase,

show the detail and the whiteness of the

pen against the black.....

The 'Miss You' sentiment is cut from

the Sentimentals cartridge.....

A few of my favourite roses.....

The paper is Making Memories,

a wee scrap piece I found in my scrap draw,

love the sparkle, would have gone down a

treat with the Glitter pens - too late.....

So, there we go....

See you tomorrow.....

Remember to leave a comment on this post

to be counted in the draw for a set of the

CRI-Kits gel pens....

My clue is on that post too.....

Collecting the clues, and solving the

anagram at the end of this Blog Hop week

could win you four of the newest

cartridges from Cricut -

Wall Decor & More

Cindy Lou

Freshly Picked

Mini Monsters

Bye for now.....

Hugs

BLOG HOP - Day 3

Good Morning again from

Perth Western Australia.....

It is now Day 3 of our

Round the World with CRI-Kits Blog Hop.....

Today is the turn of
Diane at Capadia Designs

to post her clue....

So, check in at Capadia Designs,

collect your clue for the BIG prize,

leave a comment for her blog prize,

and check out her wonderful design.....

I have created another card (!!!)

using the CRI-Kits gel pens.....

Using one of the gorgeous designs from

the mini cartridge - Summer In Paris.....

The designs on this cart are just screaming

to be drawn with the pens.....

I have drawn the design at 4" using the

purple pen from the Metallic collection.....

'bon voyage' has been cut at 1.5" from the

Beyond Birthdays cartridge.....

*******

Below you can see two images I have

drawn with the Cricut.....

One with the Gypsy and one with the

Cricut alone.....

Before you scroll down,

can you guess which is which.....

The one on the left is with the Gypsy!!!!!

Two things to notice here....

1 - the staccato effect the Gypsy image has.

The image from the Cricut alone is much smoother.....

I know which one I prefer.....

So, for those of you without a Gypsy,

no problem when it comes to the pens.....

I won't be drawing any images via the Gypsy again.....

2 - the image from the Gypsy is slightly off centre.....

Go back up to the full image drawings and

note towards the top of the balloon.....

Definitely not centered.....

Interesting.....

*****

(I must learn to do links)

to be in with a chance

of winning a set of the CRI-Kits pens on my blog.....

My clue is also at that post.....

And make sure you're collecting all the

clues from Mandy as well.....

Hugs

WIN with 'Round The World With CRI-Kits'

TUESDAY 8th JUNE 2010
0900

Welcome to day 2 of the Scrappy Go Lucky

'Round the World with CRI-Kits' Blog Hop....

Mandy has challenged us to come up with

something to do with our part of the world,

or a part of the world that is important to us....

Sadly, CRICUT have not allowed too much for

my parts of the world - Perth WA and Scotland,

I bought the Destinations cart and

was a wee bit disappointed.....

I read a wonderful suggestion on the Cricut

Message Board - for a cartridge for

each country/continent - I reckon they would go

down a treat - around the world.....

So, I have gone with the recent trip

hubby and I had to Hong Kong

- I LOVE Disney.....

Using Mickey and Friends cartridge

I have cut Mickey at 3".....

From Tinkerbell & Friends I cut Magical at 3"....

The border at the bottom with the basket

of apples is from Happily Ever After at 4".....

And the word Disney is from

Mickey and Friends at 3".....

The paper is Rouge de Garance 'Adele'

and Bazzill c/s.....

Now, to the wonderful CRI-Kits gel pens

- specially made for use in the Cricut.....

Here's one in action, the dark green pen

from the Reg & Neon set,

drawing bamboo from the Pagoda cartridge at 5.5".....

I thought I would stick with the orient

theme with the pens.....

A wee bit of green ribbon and a sentiment - voila.....

In action again, this time the red

metallic pen, drawing a vase of flowers

from the Pagoda cartridge.....

This time I treated the drawing like a stamped image

and coloured it in, using Tombow

brush pens - no Copics here - you know

I'm not a card maker.

And a wee stamped image on the vase.

Beautiful Yuzen paper, wee bit of ribbon,

sentiment, done.....

Again in action (I could watch the Cricut draw all day,

so much more fun that just cutting!!!)

Using pastel pink from the Pastel

collection of pens

(sorry doesn't photograph too well).....

And the pastel blue, also from

the Pastels collection.....

Both Koi from the Pagoda cartridge.....

Sorry about the lighting, they are a

wee bit darker than the photo's show.....

More of the beautiful Yuzen papers,

flowers and sentiments.....

I have used Nestabilities for the

frames and sentiments.....

Wouldn't you just love to have a play

with these pens, including the holder,

if you need one,

well you can WIN a set of ten pens

(your choice which set)....

Here's how:-

Too Easy.....

But, that's not all.....

Mandy is giving away the four

latest release cartridges from CRICUT

Wall Decor & More

Cindy Lou

Freshly Picked

Mini Monsters

You need to follow this international Blog Hop

and collect the clues - once you have

solved the anagram you need to

e-mail the answer to Mandy at

by Friday 18th June when the winner

will be drawn at random.....

Here is my clue.....

Mandy started the Blog Hop yesterday over at

So you need to start there and

follow us through this week.....

She has a short video of

the pens in action.....
