 new ideas for 2014.

So, you just have to head
over there and take a look.

Also to see what my fellow

Along with the elements
and date stickers from
the same collection.

Just a few wee splodges
of black acrylic paint

splash the way I wanted
 it to!)

Granddaughter #1 - Rebekah.

Granddaughter #2 - Erin.

Granddaughter #3 - Emma.

Love these papers
- this certainly does matter!

Some black and white
 cardstock - happy!

Whimsical Designs Blog Hop

Welcome! Welcome!
Welcome!

To the Whimsical Designs
"Give Thanks"
 Blog Hop!

The Hop runs from
 Friday 8th Nov 7pm EST
until
Sunday 10th Nov midnight EST.

For those of us in the UK
that means midnight on Friday 8th
 until 5am Monday 11th.
Confusing or what....lol

(And to make it even more confusing,
my Blog still thinks it lives in
 Perth, Western Australia!!!
So the time and date on the post will be
different again. I have tried to change it,
but whichever country you set it up
in is the country it stays in...lol)

You should have arrived here from
 Nanne's Blog.

If not, return to
 Whimsical Designs,
 where a complete list of
participating Blogs
 is given.

You don't want to miss any
 of the gorgeous projects
 on show.

I have created a layout for the Hop.

A recent photo of my gorgeous
 eldest Granddaughter
 from our recent trip
 to London

My background paper is from
 Webster's Designs
 "Nature's Storybook".

Title and date
Sassafras Lass
"Khaki Type"
Alphas.

The leaves are
 "Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves"
by
 Just Rite Stamps
on Vanilla
American Crafts cardstock.

And then some colouring fun with
 Distress Markers!
spiced marmalade
rusty hinge
shabby shutters
antique linen
scattered straw
crushed olive
tea dye.

I then painted a thin coating of
 KindyGlitz "Crystalina"
 over them and
 the frame.

The frame is from
Scrapmatts
 "Ornate Frames 11".

In the wee plastic bag
 is one of the leaves
 from the photograph.

And I have written the story
of the leaf on the back
 of the layout.

 A treasured moment with my
 Granddaughter!
 and read - quite cute!)

Your next stop on the Hop
 is the gorgeous
 Sheila.....

And, a final photo....

How stunning is this!!

Enjoy the Hop

Hugs

SOUS Sketch Reveal

Hello dear scrappy friends!

It's time for the latest
 Sketch Reveal
 over at

I have so wanted to do a
 layout of this subject
 for a long time.

And this time of year
 is perfect!

The Sketch from our own
 Leah Schaeffer.....

This coming Sunday is
 Remembrance Sunday.

And Monday 11th November is
 Remembrance Day.

This layout features my
six great uncles.

My Maternal Grandmother's
 six brothers.

They all fought in World War II
 - representing the three forces -

Royal Navy
Army
Royal Air Force.

Thankfully, all six returned
from the war.

However, two of them died
soon after as a result of war
injuries - the two on the
extreme right of the photo,
 both young men in
 their late 20s.

Thus I never knew them.

The other four became known
as my "old Uncles".

They all had white hair by the
time I knew them, and lived
into their 70s, except the baby
 of the family, who sadly
died at the age of 54.

And between these six boys
 only one of them
 had a child!

I wear my Poppy with pride
 every year, and this year
 I have placed my
 Poppy on this
layout.

The papers are from
 Kaiser
"Remember Me"
 Collection
and the
 Collectables
 from the same collection.

The border punch is
 Martha Stewart
 "Scallop Dot".

The individual frames are
 Spellbinders
 "Lattice Rectangles".

The original photo,
which I inherited and treasure,
 sat on my Great Grandmothers
 sideboard for as many
 years as I can
 remember.

She outlived four of her sons,
passing at the age of 93!

I am fortunate not to have
 any family currently serving
in any of the war zones,
 but my respect and gratitude
goes out to those who are
 serving and
 their families.

Lest We Forget

*****

Don't forget the Blog Hop
 coming up in a
 few short hours.

Inspiration and Candy galore.

In the meantime, head on
over to
and see what the rest of
the DT have done with
 the sketch - amazing work.

Then have a wee play yourself.

Can't wait to see what you come up with.

See you in a few hours for the Hop...lol.

Hugs
