BLOG HOP - Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of our

Round the World with CRI-Kits

Scrappy Go Lucky Blog Hop....

Are you managing to keep up with everybody.....

Diane's Boston Tea Party yesterday was fabulous....

And collecting all the clues....

Todays it's the turn of Tracey....

Hop on over to Tracey's, collect the next clue,

leave a comment,

and marvel at her gorgeous projects....

*****

My project today is another design from

the Summer In Paris cartridge, I love this cart,

should have been a full cartridge,

imagine the possibilities.....

Anyway....

Here's the Cricut in action again

- it's fascinating watching it draw these intricate designs -

using the white pen from the

Pastels CRI-Kits Gel Pens collection,

on Double Mates cardstock....

Sadly, my photographs of the finished project

do not show the design so well.....

My photography skills leave a lot to be desired....

Should have moved the card closer to the window....

I think I will take these photo's again......

However, the shots taken during the drawing phase,

show the detail and the whiteness of the

pen against the black.....

The 'Miss You' sentiment is cut from

the Sentimentals cartridge.....

A few of my favourite roses.....

The paper is Making Memories,

a wee scrap piece I found in my scrap draw,

love the sparkle, would have gone down a

treat with the Glitter pens - too late.....

So, there we go....

See you tomorrow.....

Remember to leave a comment on this post

to be counted in the draw for a set of the

CRI-Kits gel pens....

My clue is on that post too.....

Collecting the clues, and solving the

anagram at the end of this Blog Hop week

could win you four of the newest

cartridges from Cricut -

Bye for now.....

BLOG HOP - Day 3

Good Morning again from

Perth Western Australia.....

It is now Day 3 of our

Round the World with CRI-Kits Blog Hop.....

Today is the turn of
Diane at Capadia Designs

to post her clue....

So, check in at Capadia Designs,

collect your clue for the BIG prize,

leave a comment for her blog prize,

and check out her wonderful design.....

I have created another card (!!!)

using the CRI-Kits gel pens.....

Using one of the gorgeous designs from

the mini cartridge - Summer In Paris.....

The designs on this cart are just screaming

to be drawn with the pens.....

I have drawn the design at 4" using the

purple pen from the Metallic collection.....

'bon voyage' has been cut at 1.5" from the

Beyond Birthdays cartridge.....

*******

Below you can see two images I have

drawn with the Cricut.....

One with the Gypsy and one with the

Cricut alone.....

Before you scroll down,

can you guess which is which.....

The one on the left is with the Gypsy!!!!!

Two things to notice here....

1 - the staccato effect the Gypsy image has.

The image from the Cricut alone is much smoother.....

I know which one I prefer.....

So, for those of you without a Gypsy,

no problem when it comes to the pens.....

I won't be drawing any images via the Gypsy again.....

2 - the image from the Gypsy is slightly off centre.....

Go back up to the full image drawings and

note towards the top of the balloon.....

Definitely not centered.....

Interesting.....

*****

(I must learn to do links)

to be in with a chance

of winning a set of the CRI-Kits pens on my blog.....

My clue is also at that post.....

And make sure you're collecting all the

clues from Mandy as well.....

Hugs

WIN with 'Round The World With CRI-Kits'

TUESDAY 8th JUNE 2010
0900

Welcome to day 2 of the Scrappy Go Lucky

'Round the World with CRI-Kits' Blog Hop....

Mandy has challenged us to come up with

something to do with our part of the world,

or a part of the world that is important to us....

Sadly, CRICUT have not allowed too much for

my parts of the world - Perth WA and Scotland,

I bought the Destinations cart and

was a wee bit disappointed.....

I read a wonderful suggestion on the Cricut

Message Board - for a cartridge for

each country/continent - I reckon they would go

down a treat - around the world.....

So, I have gone with the recent trip

hubby and I had to Hong Kong

- I LOVE Disney.....

Using Mickey and Friends cartridge

I have cut Mickey at 3".....

From Tinkerbell & Friends I cut Magical at 3"....

The border at the bottom with the basket

of apples is from Happily Ever After at 4".....

And the word Disney is from

Mickey and Friends at 3".....

The paper is Rouge de Garance 'Adele'

and Bazzill c/s.....

Now, to the wonderful CRI-Kits gel pens

- specially made for use in the Cricut.....

Here's one in action, the dark green pen

from the Reg & Neon set,

drawing bamboo from the Pagoda cartridge at 5.5".....

I thought I would stick with the orient

theme with the pens.....

A wee bit of green ribbon and a sentiment - voila.....

In action again, this time the red

metallic pen, drawing a vase of flowers

from the Pagoda cartridge.....

This time I treated the drawing like a stamped image

and coloured it in, using Tombow

brush pens - no Copics here - you know

I'm not a card maker.

And a wee stamped image on the vase.

Beautiful Yuzen paper, wee bit of ribbon,

sentiment, done.....

Again in action (I could watch the Cricut draw all day,

so much more fun that just cutting!!!)

Using pastel pink from the Pastel

collection of pens

(sorry doesn't photograph too well).....

And the pastel blue, also from

the Pastels collection.....

Both Koi from the Pagoda cartridge.....

Sorry about the lighting, they are a

wee bit darker than the photo's show.....

More of the beautiful Yuzen papers,

flowers and sentiments.....

I have used Nestabilities for the

frames and sentiments.....

Wouldn't you just love to have a play

with these pens, including the holder,

if you need one,

well you can WIN a set of ten pens

(your choice which set)....

FRAGILE

Photo heavy post I'm afraid folks
- never a dull moment here in Perth.....

Two challenges with this layout of DGD # 1 Rebekah,
with photo's from February 2008....

Firstly, the sketch challenge over at SOUS....
With a sketch by Beggahunna this week....

And, the challenge over at Scrapping The Music....
The song this week is 'Fragile' by Sting....

Still using my Lime Tart kits, this one is from the
October 2009 (moving along slowly!!) Full Tart Kit.....

Papers are Bo Bunny 'Kitchen Spice'
Laser cut paper is Basic Grey

Cricut cuts are the shaped frame from Storybook cart
Flourishes from Wild Card cart

The title is Prima alphas
and the bling and pearls flourish is by Prima - which
I cut up to spread around the page

I have had these six photo's sitting on my scrap desk
for sooooooo long, determined to get
them all on one page.....
Along comes this sketch and at last....

This was Rebekah's first real show of emotion
(other than wanting fed or cuddled) when
she was 18 months old....

There was a movie on TV and for no apparent
reason this was what happened -
she became concerned, a little upset,
then full blown crying....

The movie??? - Sleeping Beauty - the
Disney one, and, no, not the scary
bit with the wicked queen and the dragon,
it was the end, where they all
live happily ever after.......Go figure.....

Just glad I had the camera handy to capture it.....

*****

Now for photo's of my poor car.....

Darling hubby assessing the damage,
which doesn't look so bad in daylight.....

The bumper and number plate are gone,
wherever these things go.....

The rear end isn't as bad, the damage is
mostly on the left of the rear, but somedody
parked the car beside this bush,
and this is the best photo I could get.....

So, in about four weeks she will look
all brand new again.....

Meanwhile I'm driving around in a
Toyota Corolla, quite nice actually.....

*****

Now, to happier events.....

DGD # 3 Emma is ONE.....

This was just a wee cake Mummy picked up
for the Big Day, she is having a Party this
coming Saturday, and the cake for the
party is a cracker.....

Stay tuned.....

Yummy, Yummy.....

Little poser, boy does this kid love the camera.....

And, more great stuff - the little one
has found her feet.....

No stopping her now.....

Running riot in the shopping mall.....

That's about me for now....
These photo's are for the benefit of the folks
back home - Dad has finally joined the 21st century
and now follows my blog.....

These are two of his three Great Granddaughters.....

Love you Dad.....

Hugs
