SOUS Sketch Reveal

Only 5 sleeps to go.....

Here is my interpretation
of the last sketch for
 2013 from

The Sketch
by
Nanne...

I have used the beautiful
Christmas collection of papers from
 Teresa Collins
"Christmas Home"

The circular frame around
the photo was achieved using
 two dies from
Spellbinders
 "Grand Decorative Circles One"
and Bazzill c/s
 "Ivy"

The Bauble is stamped with
 Just Rite
 "Noel Christmas Ornaments"
 using Versamark
 and heat embossed with
 American Crafts EP.

 Then die cut with
 Spellbinders
 "2010 Heirloom Ornament".

A wee bit
 Dimensional Magic
 on the
 Holly Berries.

Treasured Memories from
 Christmas 2010
 in
 Perth,
Western Australia.

We're not outside at this time
of year with those little dresses
 on I can assure you.

 It's Baltic in Scotland
 - but, still no sign of
 snow....bahhhhhh.

Hopefully you will have
time to join us over at
 amid all the festive flurries.

Do try to get over and see
 what my fellow DT girlies
 have done with the sketch.

 Would love to see your
 take on it too.

Love
 &
Christmas Hugs

Whimsical Designs Blog Hop

Welcome! Welcome!
Welcome!

To the Whimsical Designs
"Give Thanks"
 Blog Hop!

The Hop runs from
 Friday 8th Nov 7pm EST
until
Sunday 10th Nov midnight EST.

For those of us in the UK
that means midnight on Friday 8th
 until 5am Monday 11th.
Confusing or what....lol

(And to make it even more confusing,
my Blog still thinks it lives in
 Perth, Western Australia!!!
So the time and date on the post will be
different again. I have tried to change it,
but whichever country you set it up
in is the country it stays in...lol)

You should have arrived here from
 Nanne's Blog.

If not, return to
 Whimsical Designs,
 where a complete list of
participating Blogs
 is given.

You don't want to miss any
 of the gorgeous projects
 on show.

I have created a layout for the Hop.

A recent photo of my gorgeous
 eldest Granddaughter
 from our recent trip
 to London

My background paper is from
 Webster's Designs
 "Nature's Storybook".

Title and date
Sassafras Lass
"Khaki Type"
Alphas.

The leaves are
 "Shabby Chic Autumn Leaves"
by
 Just Rite Stamps
on Vanilla
American Crafts cardstock.

And then some colouring fun with
 Distress Markers!
spiced marmalade
rusty hinge
shabby shutters
antique linen
scattered straw
crushed olive
tea dye.

I then painted a thin coating of
 KindyGlitz "Crystalina"
 over them and
 the frame.

The frame is from
Scrapmatts
 "Ornate Frames 11".

In the wee plastic bag
 is one of the leaves
 from the photograph.

And I have written the story
of the leaf on the back
 of the layout.

 A treasured moment with my
 Granddaughter!
 and read - quite cute!)

Your next stop on the Hop
 is the gorgeous
 Sheila.....

And, a final photo....

How stunning is this!!

Enjoy the Hop

Black With 2 November Palette

First day of November....

Already????

New Palette Reveal
 at

How sumptuously rich are
 these colours!

Dominant Black
Coffee/Toffee Brown
Cherry Red
5% White

My take for this month includes
 a treasured photo of my
 Great Grandmother's younger sister
 and her husband
- taken a year after their marriage.

I only came into possession of
 this photo last year.

Our ancestors are all out there,
we just gotta find them
 - wish it was that
easy...lol

My black background has been
 punched with
 Martha Stewart's Deep Edge PATP
 "Spiral Arches",
 popped up onto another
 sheet of black
 American Crafts cardstock.
Love the subtle shadow effect it gives.

The background, distressed paper
 is from
 Daisy D's
 - a company that no longer exists!
Been in my stash for a
VERY LONG time.

Just goes to show,
 everything will get used
 - eventually!!!

The gorgeous flowers are from
 Zva Creative
 and the wee punched
 blooms are
 "Geneva Vine" die
 from
 Memory Box.

The title block and watches
 are from
 Bo Bunny's
"Timepiece"
Collection.

The outer clock (black)
and the hinges are
Tim Holtz dies
"Weathered Clock"
and
 "Hardware Findings".

The little red pearls and
 black lace are from
 Kaiser.

The photo mat is punched with
 Martha Stewart PATP
 "Deco Fans".

You must have a play with
this gorgeous palette,
such rich autumnal
 colours.

Can you resist?

Just remember to start with a
 black background.

*****

Now, to my card for this
month's palette.

Black cardstock from
American Crafts.

Pomegranate cardstock from
Bazzill.

The gorgeous die-cut corners
 are from
 Spellbinders
 "Filigree Corners"
 by
 Becca Feeken
 for
 Justrite.

Live your dreams is by
 Kaiser
 "Flora Delight"
 stamped onto a
"Fleur De Lis Rectangle"
 from
 Spellbinders.

The black oval frame is also
 Spellbinders
 "Floral Ovals"

The stunning image is from a
Dutch company called
 JeJe Produkt
 "Fantasy Fairies".

Pre-coloured.
Just the way I like them....lol.

I have cut up a second image
to do a wee bit of
 decoupage.

Red and black pearls from Kaiser.

Black organza ribbon,
stick pins, wee rose
from stash.

This was a beautiful
 colour palette
 to work with.

Can't wait to see what you all
 come up with.

See you over at

Hugs
